The Oceania Handball League has partnered with The Australian Sports Foundation, a Not-for-Profit organisation and Australia’s leading sports fundraiser. Please follow the link to ASF’s official fundraising website to learn more about our project and how to get involved: https://asf.org.au/projects/ohl/.
The Oceania Handball League will be created by offering franchises to clubs using the franchise model. When the franchise model begins in 2019/20, it will develop the athletes that will participate in World Championships and enable them to participate in the Olympics in Paris 2024. To further develop handball in the other 5 Oceania countries to assist further entry into World and Olympic championship tournaments according to international rules. This model will guarantee Olympic medal achievements at the Olympics in LA, 2028. Franchised clubs will contribute a single annual fee from which all costs related to the management, organisation and conduct of the League will be met, including the cost of team travel and accommodation and competition venue, advertising and broadcast costs. Underpinning the League is a commitment to the development of handball in the Oceania and Asia-Pacific region through the employment of professional players and coaches whose roles will include the administration of development programs and by the allocation of surplus funds of the Oceania Handball League to the participating National Federations for the purpose of development of handball through their own programs. Participating franchisee clubs will benefit from Handball Academy; 1 head coach + 3 experienced players working with young professional players = 4 pairs of trainers or they can work individually. Each trainer can train a minimum of 10 students per hour x 5hrs a day = 50 students x 8 trainers= 400students per day x 5 days a week = 2000 students. 40 weeks in a year = 80,000 students will train at the 24 franchise handball club academies = minimum 1,920,000 students enrolled at OHL.Inc Handball Academy. Also, sponsorship, social gambling rooms, merchandise and spectator funded income supported by extensive broadcast coverage produced by A&OHL TV of all matches (22 championship league games + 9 final four games = 31women and 31 men’s league games) through satellite television, provided free to air via the Satellite Community Television Incorporated (SCTV), ARENA sport, Eurosport and many other Australian and international sport channels. Every team will broadcast a min. of one game when playing at home because of their sponsors advertising. The list of 22 championship league games + 9 final four games can be found in the following LINK. Women’s games are played on Saturday and men’s on Sunday.
